About

the HOTL Association Timor-Leste

The HOTL Association was established in 2019 to unite and represent the growing tourism and hospitality industry of Timor-Leste. What began as a small group of five accommodation providers has evolved into a vibrant network of more than 70 members, including hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, tour operators, transport services, and entertainment venues across the country. Together, they form the voice of a sector that plays a vital role in shaping Timor-Leste’s emerging visitor economy. Our members share a common goal — to elevate the quality, visibility, and professionalism of Timor-Leste’s tourism sector.

Through collaboration, innovation, and shared learning, we strive to build a sustainable industry that drives economic growth, empowers local communities, and showcases the country’s unique natural and cultural heritage to the world. Our main focus is:

  • To advocate for the tourism sector as a trusted partner with central Government
  • To be a reliable resource for the international travel industry
  • To nurture local tourism enterprises through mentoring, training, networking and sharing information
