Empowering Timor-Leste’s Tourism Future: Highlights from the International Community Service Program 2026
Jointly organized by the Trisakti Institute of Tourism, Timor-Leste’s Ministério do Turismo e Ambiente, and the HOTL Association, the International Community Service Program 2026 successfully united over 150 hybrid participants—spanning government officials, local guides, students, and tourism enterprises—for an intensive two-day cross-border capacity-building initiative. Over the course of the event, expert speakers and industry practitioners delivered forward-thinking sessions covering digital innovation and AI integration for community-based tourism, sustainable and regenerative practices, and strategic tourism product development. By pairing real-world case studies like Indonesia’s Jomblang Cave with foundational training in guest relations, communication skills, and hospitality excellence, the program has equipped Timor-Leste’s tourism MSMEs and hotel workforce with the critical insights needed to drive growth and successfully integrate into the broader ASEAN tourism market
